O nce upon a time in the magical and mystical forests of Wells, the morning sun was beginning to glisten against the water flowing from the fountain. The birds were chirping and there was a sense of peace and tranquility in the atmosphere. However, over by Wells House was a different story…
There was an immense hustle and bustle as fairies were flying in every direction carrying objects, and shouting about. Today was a very special day, today was the wedding of Fairy Eloisa and Fairy Oskar. Everyone knows a wedding at Wells is the most magical and beautiful event in the world, but the fairies also know the hard work they have to put in to create the fairytale day.
Fairy Flo had a checklist, not just any checklist, this list started at the roundabout and went right down to the last oak tree along the entrance. Each fairy was assigned two tasks and there were three fairies checking them off the list. This was all very organised work. One fairy however had been up to mischief. Fairy Denis was a bit of a trickster, he loved playing pranks on all of the fairies. His two tasks were to light the barbeque to prepare the yummy food for after the ceremony and to water all of the beautiful flowers. He spent all morning watering flower after flower.
Denis had an idea. Not a good idea, a very mischievous idea. He started to fill balloons behind the house with the hose, he then creeped up behind Fairy Flo very slowly and sneakily. Without hesitation, he threw a bucket full of water balloons over Fairy Flo’s head.
Every single fairy in the garden froze. Denis was rolling around giggling on the freshly cut grass. All of a sudden, the list as long as a lifetime started to tear. Fairy Flo was furious, not only had he played a trick on her but he had destroyed the list and now they might forget one of the tasks. Denis suddenly stopped laughing, he got up and realised what he had done. He was very sorry for what he had done, ‘Fairy Flo I’m so sorry I did not mean to upset you I just wanted to play a trick on you but now I’ve destroyed the list!’ Not to worry Denis, let’s just get this fixed as quick as possible!
Each fairy was going twice as speedy as before, fairies who had completed their tasks made sure everything else was going to be done on time. Even Fair Denis was zooming around helping as much as he could. After a crazy few hours everything was done. All of the Fairies got dressed and sat in Robertson Hall waiting for Eloisa and Oskar to arrive.
Denis slouched on his seat with relief. Suddenly, he remembered, he had completely forgot to light the barbeque! He panicked. ‘Fairy Flo I’m so sorry I forgot about the barbeque what are we going to do I’ve ruined the day?!’
‘I have an idea’ said Fairy Flo. She flew into the kitchen where she met Junior, the head chef who she knew she could always count on. She explained what had happened and without any hesitation Junior ran outside and lit the barbeque. All of the fairies returned to their seats just in the nick of time.
Eloisa and Oskar had the most beautiful wedding with colorful flowers, birds singing and all of the fairies together.
They all made their way outside where Junior had really cooked up a storm. In front of them were the most colorful tasty dishes they had ever seen! Everyone dug in and filled their tummies with yummy goodness!
All of the fairies and woodland creatures danced and sang the night away. What an amazing night it had been. Denis went to bed late that night, he had learnt a lesson that day, playing tricks on people can be fun and games but you need to be careful and consider people’s feelings. He was lucky to have such a good forgiving friend, Fairy Flo.
