Close to Wells House and Gardens is the renowned blue flag beach of Morriscastle, a firm favourite for generations of visitors to Wexford. Golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see on this stunning beach.
There are public toilets, free parking and a shop and fast food outlet at the main entrance to the beach. In summer, a lifeguard service provided by Wexford County Council patrols a section of the beach.
The Wexford shoreline is renowned for shore angling playing host to the Junior and Youth World Championships in 2024. Nearby is the famous Curracloe beach, regularly voted one of Ireland’s best beaches and location for the infamous opening sequence in the Hollywood blockbuster film ‘Saving Private Ryan’.
Bustling Country Towns Steeped in Heritage
Just a twenty-minute drive away is the vibrant market town of Gorey. Here you will find an array of boutique shops and a wide variety of places to eat and drink from low-budget to high-end award winning restaurants.
Also nearby are the towns of Wexford and Enniscorthy. Both towns are steeped in history from early Christian through to Viking and medieval times to modern day. Visit attractions like Enniscorthy Castle, 1798 Centre, The Irish National Heritage Park and Johnstown Castle to see our fascinating history brought to life before your eyes.

“I fell across Wells House self catering accommodation online by accident really and we were so glad. We had a really lovely stay. The newly renovated accommodation is lovely. It had everything we needed. After the gates close to the public we had the grounds to ourselves more or less. There were a few other cottages occupied but we saw very few people. It was so peaceful. It was very good value for money we felt. The staff were lovely and helpful. The kids loved the animals, the walks and the playground. We attended the teddy bears picnic which the kids loved. We thought this place was a real hidden gem. We will definitely be back“
